Astrid Jorgensen

Embracing Average: Learning to let go of ‘being the best’ and feeling better along the way

Astrid Jorgensen is a Brisbane-based choral conductor, composer, producer, and presenter. She is the founding director of ‘Pub Choir ®’ and it’s online Covid adaptation ‘Couch Choir’. Astrid has delivered her unique choral instruction to thousands in Australia and internationally, and has worked onstage with the likes of The Rolling Stones, Paul Kelly and Neil Finn. Astrid was nominated for 2020 QLD Young Australian of the Year and was named as one of the 40-under-40 Most Influential Asian Australians in 2021. 


Astrid was a co-creator, co-host, and consultant executive producer of ‘Australia’s Biggest Singalong!’. Along with Julia Zemiro, Miranda Tapsell, and Mark Seymour (of the Hunters & Collectors), the 2 hour, world-first TV broadcast saw Astrid simultaneously teach a live audience and over 200,000 viewers at home around Australia to perform in 3-part vocal harmony, live on SBS Television on June 5th, 2021. She has also worked extensively with the Australian Broadcast Company as a live radio producer, and as the facilitator of their 2020 national TV campaign, ‘I Am Australian’ featuring Olivia Newton-John and Human Nature.
